The people of God at the Yea Presbyterian Church join with all the redeemed people of God in worship. We have been brought out of the darkness of sin and into God’s glorious light through faith in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, since such great mercy has been shown to us, the people of Yea Presbyterian Church seek to glorify and enjoy God just as He is revealed in His Word – as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We do this by serving, loving and obeying him.
We accept the Bible is the only inspired and true revelation of God. The Bible is a fully trustworthy to guide to us in all matters of faith and practice. Because we believe this about the Scriptures it means that our work and witness has distinctive guiding values.
In daily life we seek to serve and obey God by:
· worshipping Him in Spirit and truth;
· encouraging all God’s people, by teaching God’s Word, so that we become mature in Christ, living a holy life;
· seeking to help everyone who is still to come to trust in Jesus through the sharing of the gospel of the forgiveness of sin;
· we also try to be faithful in our social witness by demonstrating God’s love and righteousness in both word and deed.
By being faithful in these things it is our passionate prayer that, by God’s grace:
· lives will be changed according to the pattern of Christ’s life;
· there will be growth and maturity in existing churches;
· the unsaved and perishing will come to faith in Christ;
· new churches will be planted as we grow;
· and in all this, churches will have an effect in changing society’s values for good by promoting the righteousness of Jesus.
In pursuing these aims, we seek to:
· to always depend on God’s leading,
· to be aware of the culture of our town,
· to be prepared to take bold steps as faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
